Gaining Ground...

As I reach the end of my educational career here at UIS, I feel the need to get my goals in order.  We all know what this means...deadlines.  But wait, Erin, aren't you graduating in December?  Well, yes...  However, at some point we all learn that what we've really learned in the American educational system is how to be a responsible citizen of the world.  Oh yes, and that includes setting and sticking to deadlines and following rules.  For no matter how unreasonable or senseless they may appear to be, they are the way of the world and as part of the world we just gotta go with it  :)

So...

GOALS FOR THE SEMESTER

  • Graduate in December with above a 3.0 GPA
  • Find a 3-bedroom apartment in the South Suburbs of Chicago
  • Find a job in the South Suburbs of Chicago
  • Open a savings account
  • Buy awesome (but affordable) Christmas gifts for my loved ones
  • Move out of current apartment
  • Find out and prepare for Student Teaching placement
GOALS FOR THE YEAR

  • Find a well-paying teaching job in a good district
    • Preferably District #210...
    • Good benefits (health insurance, etc...)
  • Maintain savings account
  • Do something for summer vacation
    • Must be cheap, but good/fun
  • Buy teaching supplies (YAY!)
GOALS FOR MY LIFE
  • Work hard to maintain:
    • Career/job
    • Self worth
    • Family ties
    • Meaningful friendships
  • Marriage???
  • Kids???
  • BE HAPPY
Ultimately, though, we shall try our best, hope, pray and see.  With this, then, I leave you with the wonderful words of Mr. Walt Disney...

"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long.  We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.  Keep moving forward!"  -Walt Disney
